Welsh Web Designby Webso Digital

Web design for businesses across Wales

Websites for Wales, bilingual when it should be

Welsh Web Design builds websites for businesses across Wales from £599 as a one-off, adds a Welsh version written by a person from £350, and runs the SEO from £399 a month. We are Webso Digital, a studio in Wrexham (Wrecsam). One in six people in Wales speaks Welsh and in Gwynedd it is two in three, so every build starts with one question: who are your customers, and which language do they search in.

The first decision

Does your website need Welsh? It depends on who you are and where you trade

The 2021 Census counted 538,300 Welsh speakers, 17.8% of Wales, but the share runs from 64% in Gwynedd to under 8% in Newport, and the law binds some organisations and not others. This is how we answer it before a page is designed.

What we build

A site written for your customers, built to load on a phone in Blaenau Ffestiniog

Web design in Wales, in detail

Every site we build has a page for each service you sell, written after one call with you and in your words; your own photographs, sized to load in under two seconds on 4G; the places you serve named the way local people name them, Wrecsam and Wrexham, Caerdydd and Cardiff; and a quote form that reaches your inbox and your phone. The fonts carry ŵ and ŷ, which most templates quietly drop, so Tŷ Newydd is spelt right in the headings.

Where Welsh belongs, the bilingual version is a real second site, not a widget: a Welsh page for every English page, hreflang so Google shows the right one, a switch that keeps the page, and Welsh written by a translator. An online shop gets delivery rules by postcode area; a redesign keeps every address that ranks; and the monthly SEO gets the site found for the job in the town, in whichever language the customer types.

Who we build for

Four kinds of Welsh business with four different websites

Tourism and hospitality
Cottages, campsites, pubs with rooms. Direct bookings instead of commission, and the register that opens on 1 October 2026.
Farms and food producers
Farm shops, butchers, cheese and beer. Hamper season, delivery postcodes, the wholesale page.
Charities and public bodies
The Welsh Language Standards, WCAG 2.2, and a site trustees can sign off.
Trades
Electricians, plumbers, builders, roofers. Town pages that are real, and the Iaith Gwaith badge where it is true.

Proof

Numbers from sites we have built, with the caveats attached

A vehicle remapping business twenty minutes from Wrexham got a new site from us in July 2026: third in the Google map pack by week five, clicks from Google up 500% from a small base, 98 out of 100 for mobile speed. A tuning site we rebuilt went from 65 to 96 on the same test without changing a word that ranked. A translation agency in Varna whose site runs in three languages, and a recording studio in Wrexham, passed our technical and AI-readiness checks after fixes. And when we launched a 22-page site of our own in August 2026, Google had indexed half of it within four days.

No testimonials we cannot show you the source of, no logos, no counters. Everything, including what has not worked yet, is on the results page.

How a build runs

Four weeks from the first call to live, five with Welsh to translate

Most of the time is waiting for photos and answers; the build itself takes days.

  1. Week 1

The audit and a forty-minute call about the work you want more of. You get the audit and a fixed quote by email; if you go ahead, the photo and copy checklist arrives the same day.

  2. Weeks 2 to 3

You shoot what the checklist asks for and answer twenty questions in your own words. We build on a private link you can send to your partner or your trustees, and change it until it is right.

  3. Week 3, if bilingual

The signed-off English goes to the translator, a second Welsh speaker reads the pages people land on first, and the /cy/ site is built with hreflang and the switch.

  4. Week 4

Live: domain pointed, forms tested to your phone, Search Console and Analytics set up with consent, the Google profile matched to the site in both languages. Then the monthly work, and nothing judged before day 28.

Questions businesses in Wales ask us

Do I need a Welsh version of my website?

If you are a public body or deliver a service for one, yes: the Welsh Language Standards require Welsh to be treated no less favourably than English online. If you trade in Gwynedd, Ynys Môn, Ceredigion or Carmarthenshire, where 40% to 64% of people speak Welsh, usually yes. A trade in Wrexham or a shop in Newport can start in English and add Welsh later. We say which in the audit.

How much does a website cost in Wales?

With us, £599 for a Starter site of home, four to six service pages, your work, about and a quote form; £1,200 for the Business site of around fourteen to eighteen pages with a year of hosting and care; £1,600 with the full SEO package built in. The Welsh version is from £350 on top. The prices are on the pricing page and they are the same for a café in Llandudno and a solicitor in Cardiff.

Where are you, and will you come to us?

Wrexham, at 110 Rhosddu Road. Most of a build happens by phone, email and a private link. We come on site by appointment for the photo day, the launch, or when a room full of trustees needs to see the thing: Llandudno is an hour, Bangor an hour and a half, Aberystwyth two, Cardiff two and a half, Swansea three.

What does one business per town mean?

On the monthly SEO tiers we work for one business per town and trade, because we cannot push two competitors for the same searches in the same place. The website packages have no such limit. Put your town on the quote form and the reply confirms it personally.

Find out what your website is doing for you, in plain English

Send the address, or say you have none, and tell us where in Wales you are. Daniel Stoychev reads it and replies within one working day with what a customer sees, what Google sees, whether Welsh belongs on the site, and a fixed price.
